My research interests include but are not limited to the areas of artificial intelligence (AI) for autonomous agents, including robots. In particular, I am interested in developing novel machine learning or deep learning methods to allow robots to autonomously recognize and understand the environments. It is also one of my research areas to develop a deep learning method for visual inspection and factory automation in smart factories. And I am interested in developing a framework for practical application of the developed intelligence to various robots such as social robots and surgical assistive robots and in industrial fields.
